More than 162,000 hectares of forest has been burned in Kalimantan and Sumatera. In Central Kalimantan itself, there are RIght now in Central Kalimantan itself, there are 1778 hotspots (09/14). Everyday we count the PM 2.5 in Palangkaraya and it can reach more than 1000 μg/m³ (PAQ), resulting to 9000 people being affected by URI (ISPA). As Indonesia is facing a devastating forest fire crisis with its impact of toxic smoke haze made it to neighboring countries, YouthACT Youth Firefighter Squad are fighting the forest fire for all - and we need YOUR support! With our Youth ACT volunteers, we are helping the official firefighters in the frontline even though we don’t have complete equipment. Help us purchase them! We have been distributing almost 9000 masks for the past three months in Palangkaraya city and the outskirts. Now we have less than a thousand of N95 masks left and zero stock for children masks.
